Huge BCAA Review

Huge BCAA was developed by Huge Nutrition as an all-in-one amino acid supplement with high dosages for athletic individuals.

BCAAs, or branched-chain amino acids, are a group of three essential amino acids that the body cannot produce naturally. These three amino acids are L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, and L-Valine.

Every BCAA supplement will include these three amino acids, though the quantities of each often vary. However, most supplement brands stop there. They forget to include many other amino acids, which although some of them your body may produce naturally, the quantities in which it can produce them may not always be large enough.

That’s where Huge BCAA comes in…

We were sent a sample of Huge BCAA by the guys over at Huge Supplements, so we could test it out for ourselves and provide this detailed review.

Huge Nutrition did a great job developing Huge BCAA, and we love the fact that the product is well dosed with not just the three BCAAs, but many other amino acids that play an important role in muscle development and recovery.

Important Information

Before we get down to the nitty-gritty of the ingredients, prices, and flavors; let’s quickly cover some important information about the product and its packaging:

Servings/Tub Size

A single tub of Huge BCAA contains 25 servings, and each tub has a net weight of 485g.

Scoop Size: 19.4g

A single scoop or serving of Huge BCAA weighs 19.4g. If you’re already knowledgeable on the subject of amino acids, you’ll realize this high serving size is a great indication of just how well-dosed this formula is. Almost 18g of this serving is amino acids, with no unnecessary ingredients.

Most BCAA products will have serving sizes between 5g and 11g.

Huge Nutrition recommends stacking Huge BCAA with their Wrecked or Pump Serum pre-workouts; however, they also include Huge BCAA in a stack with their Formula XII, which would make for a perfect intra-workout stack.

Huge BCAA Ingredients

Huge BCAA Ingredients - Supplement Label

Huge BCAA contains 12 core ingredients, adding up to a total of 19.4g per serving. Let’s talk about all the individual ingredients and their dosages:

BCAA 2:1:1 (L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, L-Valine) – 8000mg

The three essential branched-chain amino acids are L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, and L-Valine. The body cannot produce them naturally, therefore making them essential amino acids.

They are broken down in the muscle tissue, and your body can use them as building blocks for protein and muscle. Leucine is thought to have the biggest effect on building muscle, whilst Isoleucine and Valine are more effective in reducing fatigue.

8000mg is a well-dosed formula, with 5000mg – 7000mg being the industry standard.

L-Glutamine – 5000mg

Glutamine is an amino acid that helps with protein synthesis in muscle tissue. It’s often included in many BCAA supplements, yet not always. However, if you’re putting together an amino acid supplement, you’ll want L-Glutamine.

5000mg is the standard dosage.

Coconut Water Powder (Cocos Nucifera) – 750mg

Coconut water powder helps provide electrolytes and hydration to aid in post-workout recovery.

L-Lysine – 500mg

L-Lysine reduces the rate of catabolism. After an intense workout, the body goes into a catabolic state, which is undesirably for growth. Lysine helps reverse this produce, and push the body into an anabolic state instead, in which recovery and muscle tissue growth can occur.

L-Threonine – 500mg

L-Threonine is another amino acid and is needed to create glycine and serine, two amino acids that play an important role in the production of collagen, elastin, and muscle tissue.

L-Tryptohan – 200mg

This amino acid is converted by the body into serotonin, which in turn helps improve your mood and sleep. Better sleep ensures quicker and better recovery.

L-Phenylalanine – 175mg

L-Phenylalanine is found in various dairy products, as well as meat and fish. The research for it in an athletic environment is still limited, however, it may aid individuals with issues such as ADHD, Vitiligo, and Arthritis.

L-Histidine HCL – 150mg

L-Histidine is often referred to as a “semi-essential amino acid” because whilst it’s nonessential in adults, it’s essential in the diet of infants and people with a kidney disorder called uremia.

L-Methionine – 150mg

L-Methionine may help in aiding metabolism, protecting the liver, and helping with the absorption of other nutrients.

Other ingredients:

  • Calcium (as Calcium Carbonate) – 80mg
  • Sodium (as Sodium Chloride) – 80mg
  • Potassium (as Potassium Citrate) – 40mg

Huge BCAA Flavor Options

Huge BCAA Flavor Options

Huge BCAA is currently only available in one flavor, ‘Kiwi Blueberry’. We actually really enjoyed this flavor, despite the fact that flavors in BCAA supplements are often tainted slightly due to the nature of their ingredients.

As we always say with single flavor products, we want to see more!

What would be great is if Huge Nutrition released some of the flavors from their other products for Huge BCAA. That way if you want to stack their Wrecked pre-workout with their BCAA formula, you could mix them both into one shaker without ruining the taste.

However, given their products’ impressive dosages and serving sizes, you’d probably need a very large shaker.

The cost of Huge BCAA is $39.99 for a single tub with 25 servings. This is definitely on the expensive side for a BCAA product, however, bear in mind most BCAA supplements include the bare minimum quantities for the 3 core amino acids, and nothing else.

They normally range between 5-7g per serving. Huge BCAA’s content is roughly 3 times that, and they don’t stop at just the basic BCAA ingredients. They add a ton of other important amino acids that you often have to buy separately.

Where to Buy Huge BCAA?

You can buy a tub of Huge BCAA on the Huge Supplements website for $39.99.

Pros & Cons

Let’s discuss the advantages and disadvantages of Huge BCAA and weigh everything up:

Pros

  • The well-dosed amino acid content
  • Goes beyond just the essential BCAAs
  • Great value considering the high content per serving

Cons

  • Only one flavor option
  • More expensive price (however increased value)

FAQ

Here are some frequently asked questions many people have on the product:

Q: How Can I Use Huge BCAA?

Mix one scoop of Huge BCAA with 8-12 fl. oz of water and consume it before, during, or after your workout. To get the most out of this product, Huge Nutrition advises users to consume two scoops of Huge BCAA per day.

Q: Can I Stack Huge BCAA With Another Product?

You can definitely stack Huge BCAA with other products. Huge Nutrition recommends stacking it with one of their pre-workout formulas, such a Pump Serum or Wrecked. However, they actually sell a stack containing Huge BCAA and their intra-workout, Formula XII, which would pair very nicely.

Summary

So, how good is Huge BCAA?

In our personal opinion, this is probably one of the best-dosed amino acid supplements on the market. It has a higher than average BCAA 2:1:1 content and also includes the recommended 5g dosage of glutamine, another amino acid proven to be effective in an athletic environment.

Many of the other amino acids included in this supplement can also aid in post-workout recovery, and tissue growth.

However, a few of the ingredients listed still need more research done to prove if they are effective or not.

The price is slightly on the expensive side, however, the content cancels this out. You can always find a BCAA supplement for cheaper, but it won’t contain anywhere near the level of ingredients and dosages that Huge BCAA does.

All we can say is, Huge Nutrition, give us another flavor!
